Grad School Woes

: Snow_love, DestinyIt's almost narcissitic to apologize for not writing since it implies that the writer assumes people are sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for the next post, but I feel compelled to tastefully vent about working fulltime and schooling halftime. Not part time. Half time.

That was the term paper I turned in this week. I wrote it in a week after I got back from China. It was not my master's thesis, just a term paper--with a monster staple. I haven't even THOUGHT about my wedding in over a month. I haven't bought groceries in over 2 months. D helps me out so much with everything. I think I scare him into not going back to school for his masters, but it's important for a woman to get hers "out of the way" if she chooses to obtain one, considering women have to be the goddesses who bear children. Props to you working/schooling/mothers. I know you're out there and I can't imagine a more impossible task. Unless of course you bring in the subject of time travel. I am pretty skeptical about that.
I have two more weeks until finals and then I am packing my life up to move into the home he has been working on since October. After this semester, I am on the downstroke... five more night courses of intense Enginerd coursework. I'm not talking about high school or undergrad. There is a reason why it gets harder to return to school. It's because school gets even more difficult. *Sigh*
On the bright side, the nerd in me has been satisfied learning and reserching new topics that have actually improved my understanding at work. About damn time. I just want to tell the professors and bosses a couple of things.
- Prof, my life does not involve only your class and I do not consider it my number 1 priority. I do not eat, sleep, or breathe m@terial specifications and such and such.
- Prof, changing the schedule between class sessions is unacceptable. Despite popular belief, students do not know how to read your mind.
- Prof, I work fulltime and am under the knife to release a new product. I do not care about your homework assigment to research algorithms on such and such.
- Boss, I do not like phone conferences at 11PM about anything. Unless you're calling to tell me you forgot an extra thousand dollars in my paycheck, in which case, you can call me at anytime. I'll even throw in an account number for direct deposit.
- Boss, I have not taken full advantage of my vacation days. Any time I have taken a vacation day, it was so that I could catch up on the missed assigments you caused me to miss with all of your Boss-like bellows about deadlines. So don't give me crap for staying home once in awhile.
Was that tasteful enough?
