Ode To The Ride
5.14.2007 ||
Yesterday, on my way home from eastside Mother's Day weekend, I got pulled over 2 miles from my exit for speeding. I was going 90mph when I saw the Po and took my foot off the gas. Of course, I was on the phone so I didn't pay attention to my detector SCREAMING at me. He clocked me at 86 and gave me a "break" issuing an 80 in a 70 zone. You would think that since my mom is dating a cop that I might be able to get rid of this, but I hate his guts so probably no favors for this girl. Anyway, it's $85 out of my pocket and just 2 points. My last tickets are off my record since they were 3 years ago. Still. Grr. I didn't even argue with him... I was going 90! Maybe a boob flash could have fixed everything, but I don't think he would have appreciated an ungraceful shirt-lift from under my seatbelt. Oh well. It's cheaper than my past tickets.
After hitting 100,000 miles this year, my baby (my car) decided to give me a hard time about everything. Where can I start...?
The good news is my mechanic looked at everything and it all seems in order. My timing belt should last another 50k. From the first flat, I replaced my front wheel tires so they should last me for awhile. May need to replace the rear ones soon though since they are getting thin. ALSO... I'm done with spending $ for gas.
I was driving on fumes this morning and filled up before work to ensure that my car would actually start later. I have a 17.2 gallon tank... $50 later and I finally got myself to work to make more gas money. Half hour communtes suck.

- She decided to hit an ice chunk. That was a great time. Rear passenger.
- I got a flat 2 weeks ago driving over a rusty nail. Rear driver.
- I had to replace my brakes about a month ago.
- Flushed her transmission.
- Found my rims scratched up this weekend. No doubt probably from rubbing a curb somewhere.

- Scheduled to replace my discs in 2 weeks since they are in bad shape and causing her to squeal whenever I brake.
- Have to get her detailed. I know I know. You're thinking, "unnecessary expense." BUT when you accidently break open a bottle of fuel injector fluid in her trunk, you need to take her to ger detailed. I come into work everyday smelling like I wrestled with the gas pump.
