Cockroaches & Reincarnation
9.27.2006 ||
Six Flags is allowing people to cut in line if they eat cockroaches. GROSS! I would NOT do that! They aren't just silent live cockroaches, they HISS!!! What will America do next?

So I've been reading a lot of CNN... it's nice to have time to be aware of the world and current events. One story that has been in the headlines for awhile was the death of Anna Nicole Smith's son on the day of her daughter's death. Could this be reincarnation?? Hmmm, just a thought.

I got one of my Wisdom Teeth removed last Thursday... still on ibprofen & vicodin, but it's such an annoying nagging pain. It was a GOOD thing that I did not read this story before the appointment: Girl left comatose after dental visit dies. I was fine after the procedure. We even ventured to tailgate at State over the weekend, which to say the least, was eventful!

My boyfriend got confronted by a WT dude in the porter potty line, we dropped off a drink guy referred to as "ninja" at a Meijer gas station, and these drunk idiots at the bar got kicked out after they were not served and threw out the N word. Talk about sloppy. I didn't get any pictures because we forgot some camera batteries Not so happy

The Un-Kindness of Strangers
9.19.2006 ||
Have we been conditioned not to help people?

Monday evenings usually promise me a sweaty workout at kickboxing. After some stressful situations, this past Monday proved no different. I was kicking and punching pretty hard... even perfected a roundhouse. It wasn't until I left that the evening routine changed. As I walked to my car, a girl got out of a truck parked behind me. The truck drove away without the young girl, who was carrying a small puppy (very cute!). As I shifted my weight into my own car, I heard a sob. Thinking that I misheard something, she sat down in the grass infront of my car as I turned on the engine. I looked up from my keys and saw physical evidence of her crying, her small frame was shaking. This time, her head was hunched over the puppy in her arms. This image provoked an internal dialogue and I found myself arguing about whether I should have asked her if she was alright or not. As I told myself to get out of the car, my hands put the car in reverse and I started to drive away. I told myself to go back, but my body said hell no. Thoughts that it was some type of scam versus some petite girl who needed a shoulder were racing. The result: I drove away... so confused. I didn't know what to do.

Have we been conditioned not to help strangers? She looked so harmless. Who knows what just happened with the man in the truck that dropped her off, but if that were me, I wouldn't have wanted to be left alone. As harmless as she looked, I questioned if it was some type of scam. Maybe she was going to ask for a ride and I would get stabbed. In which case, she'd take my keys, my car, and my sweaty gym clothes. It's like driving by a broke down car on the side of the road. I've heard of scams before... but if it happened to me, I would hope someone would help me.

On my way home, I was still arguing with what I should or should not have done. I finally reached my house where there was one parking spot left-- a parallel squeeze. I can parallel park, but I hit the stupid stick thaat day and lost all mechanical skill. Two "ghetto" men in 80s windbreaker outfits, you know what I'm talking about, topped off with brown bags started walking towards my car. I naturally freaked out, but then I realized they were helping me park. They told me how much room I had in the back since I could not see. That was karma that I did not expect to receive after I left that poor girl.

Interesting.

Adventures of the Working Girl
9.12.2006 ||
Finished my first week at work! Woot! Passed the drug test! Double Woot! Weird, people are treating me like an engineer and asking me for work. I am enjoying this. I'm starting to game plan a promotion

Still waiting for the fabulous ex-roomie to repay her debt to me and the rest of the house. Not a fan. I wonder what goes on in people's heads when they think that they can justify being difficult when they owe people money.

Some people just have no class, no tact.

Friday, D and I did that whole traveling thing and visited my sister. We ended up spontaneously going out to Sevin in Pontiac-- having a great time! I saw a guy kick a girl in her head while he was "breakdancing" and instead of apologizing, flicked her off because she said, "ow". Douche. I had fun with Lexi and Lena! D and I danced all night of course and the girls took care of us with the driving. Thanks for the great time.

Some people just have no class, no tact.

On Saturday, I went to a beautiful wedding with D, Corey, and Ashley. It was for one of my good college buddies, Rick. The ceremony and reception was held in Sagnasty. Beautiful Wedding. I wish the best to Rick, Erica, and Sydney Marie! They fed us like whoa! I love intimate weddings like that. D and I swung danced to a few songs, sometimes to evade the situation of a classless girl sitting with us. There were 3 other couples sitting with us. Immediately approaching the table, the girl had a pitcher of beer and glassed over eyes. The first thing she bitchily said to her husband was "I'm cold, give me your coat!" If cussing and popping out of her "dress" was any indication of what was going to happen, I knew she was going to be part of my entertainment. However, she was unwelcomed. THERE IS A TIME AND PLACE FOR EVERYTHING! Aside from our lovely guests at the table, I had a wonderful time. The four of us went back to our hotel room after hitting up a local Sagnasty liquor store. After all the free wedding drinks and a sip of our cocktails, we passed out!

Can't believe my friends are getting married! Sarah's wedding is next weekend... maybe there will be some drunken low class guest that can entertain me. Her wedding is in GR and it's with a LOT of my buddies. I am so excited for this.

Some people just have no class, no tact.

Sunday, we visited D's family in Lansing. His dad had ballroom dance lessons in session so we joined in! I learned the basic tango and rhumba. Hehe, we were planning on dance lessons anyway but joining in on his dad's class was fun! The couple he was teaching was preparing for their wedding next weekend, awwww, I love that. Finally after some good home cooking and chatting, we headed back to the westside. I had a fantastic weekend.

I finally have the time to hang out with my friends. It feels like forever that I have some time to myself. Ryan and I went out to chat over coffee last week and this week, Clayton and I are going to go out for dinner. The only thing is that I prefer to only go out during the weekends. My time during the week is FULL! I can't believe how busy I still am.

I've been looking at apartments downtown and have my eye on a couple. I can't keep looking until October since my September calendar is FULL! It would be so easy to move to Holland, but no thanks. The city is dead in the winter-- if it could even be considered a city. A couple of the guys have moved to Standale or out to Alpine and other surrounding areas, but I want to be close to where the people are... downtown. Maybe people will keep visiting if I am right downtown because there is more to offer?
